Crossfire returns to IEM Expo in Katowice in March

$30,000 USD is up for grabs.
Sam Bishop 17 enero 2018

Developer Smilegate has announced some exciting news for European fans of their shooter Crossfire, as the Go4Crossfire January cup series held with ESL will be the Qualifier for the Crossfire IEM Exp Invitational 2018, which will be held in Katowice, Poland, on March 3.

Two European teams will have the chance to represent the region during the high-stakes esports event, and to qualify each team needs to each qualify for Go4Crossfire Europe January finals through weekly ESL Go4 cups and win the monthly final on February 7, or accumulate the most amount of Go4 points through the cups on January 21 and 28. If the team with the most points also wins the monthly final, the team with the second highest points for the month will be selected.

All of the teams at the IEM Expo will compete for a $30,000 USD prize pool and a chance to lift the trophy, which was won by Chinese team Super Valiant Gaming last time around. More details will be announced at a later date, including schedules, invited teams, and more, but for now it's already shaping up to be a great event.

"We are delighted to come back to Europe for the second time with Crossfire IEM Expo Invitational," said Smilegate Crossfire esports head Brady Yeo in a statement. "ESL is one of the leading professionals in the esports industry and we want to continue this partnership to deliver more Crossfire esports around the world."

Can a European team lift the trophy?
