Recently Geoff Moore was named as the COO and President of Envy Gaming, and when we caught up with home over Skype for an interview, we asked about what attracted him to esports in the first place, and he said that the generational shift means that esports is in a really promising position.
"The generation we're in now understands, accepts, and celebrates diversity better than my generation, right," Moore said. "Like if you were the high school American football player or cheerleader in my generation then you were lifted up and celebrated and everyone else who wasn't that, wasn't that. And now, with my kids - and I see it with a lot of people - people understand inherently the value of diversity, and having differences and being unique in a much more fundamental way than they ever did before. And I think that esports is diverse, unique, special, and then it's just on its path, on its journey to find its best version of itself."
Where can esports go from here?
