KONAMI has announced the start dates for its eFootball.League 2020/21 season. Featuring two divisions, the first is set to begin on December 7, in the more accessible eFootball.Open will allow all users to take part in certain matchday events, using preset teams.

Last year's eFootball.Open amassed 1.4 million participants worldwide, so this year, KONAMI is looking to build on that success by offering eFootball Points as a reward for competing, which can be exchanged for in-game rewards. Likewise, the top performing competitors for the event will be invited to play in the World Finals in July 2021.

The second division is the eFootball.Pro season, beginning on December 12. With professional players representing the world's biggest football clubs, the 2020/21 eFootball.Pro season will be played in a 3v3 co-op match format.

"Following the breakthrough success of the inaugural eFootball.League season, I am proud to share the first details ahead of the new season kick-off on December 7th," said Naoki Morita, President at Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. "Thanks to the hard work of our teams around the world, we will soon showcase the most talented eFootball players and uncover the next generation of athletes."
