Esports tournament organiser ESL has announced the creation of ESL Mobile, a new global ecosystem designed for competitive mobile gaming. Set to be accessible to players of all skill levels, ESL Mobile is looking to include titles such as Asphalt 9: Legends, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, PUBG Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra.

At the moment, ESL Mobile is set to reach across Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region, and it is set to offer competition from grassroots all the way to the biggest stages in esports.

Over 2021, ESL will host two full seasons of action, starting with the ESL Mobile Spring 2021 season starting in April. Each season will feature two levels of competition, the ESL Mobile Open and the ESL Mobile Challenge, and they are both designed to give players of all abilities a shot at competition. Here are the currently scheduled dates for 2021:

  • April 12-May 6, 2021: Mobile Open Play (Ladder #1)
  • May 7-8, 2021: Mobile Open Play-In Weekend (Ladder #1)
  • May 10-June 3, 2021: Mobile Open Play (Ladder #2)
  • June 4-5, 2021: Mobile Open Play-In Weekend (Ladder #2)
  • June 15-July 7, 2021: Mobile Challenge Regular Season
  • July 17-18 and July 22-23, 2021: Mobile Challenge Finals

"ESL has made a name for itself building competitive ecosystems across a wide variety of games and genres in the esports landscape," said Kevin Rosenblatt, co-managing Director of ESL North America and General Manager of Mobile at ESL Gaming in a press release. "We're incredibly excited to continue this trailblazing and innovative approach in the mobile esports space. Mobile gaming has reached unprecedented popularity worldwide and ESL is thrilled to bring players and fans this competitive and highly engaging program."
