A move that is in line with new U.S. policies.

It has been revealed by Bethesda that in coordination with a new United States Treasury Department policy, it has announced that it will be indefinitely suspending Russian and Belarussian players from competing in either the Quake Pro League or Quake Challengers. Explained in a tweet, Bethesda stated.

"Consistent with updated U.S. Treasury Department policy, we have indefinitely suspended players from Russia and Belarus from competing in both the Quake Pro League and Quake Challengers."

This follows other sanctions imposed by esports tournament organisers, such as BLAST, who revealed that it will not allow Russian teams to compete in its events.
