The 2023 Pokémon World Championship will be held in Japan

It will be the first time that it has ever happened.
Ben Lyons Senior Editor 23 agosto 2022

Despite Pokémon being a Japanese creation from a Japanese company (The Pokémon Company), the Pokémon World Championships have never actually been held in the country. But, this is soon to be changed, as it has been revealed that the 2023 Championships will be going home and being held in Japan.

Strangely enough, this will also only be the second time that the Pokémon World Championships have been held outside of North America, with the first time being the very recently concluded 2022 Championships, which took place in London, UK.

There has not been a date announced for when the World Championships will take place, but we are told that the host city will be Yokohama. You can see the announcement of the 2023 location in the Twitter video below.
