Corsair completes purchase of Scuf Gaming

The controller specialist is the latest to join Corsair's growing collection of gaming enthusiast brands.
Mike Holmes 5 marzo 2020

Back in December Corsair announced that it had agreed to buy controller specialist Scuf Gaming, and now the deal has been completed.

Scuf, which was previously owned by H.I.G. Growth, has a big reputation for making top quality modular controllers for PC and console, and they're a prominent sponsor in the esports arena, with a bunch of high profile players using their gear.

"Over the last ten years, we've worked tirelessly to create the features that have made Scuf the preferred controller for the majority of top professional gamers. Controllers are the single most important connection between an individual and their game, becoming an extension of the player to maximize their performance," Scuf CEO and founder Duncan Ironmonger said at the time of the first announcement.

"We are delighted to join forces with Corsair, who share similar DNA to Scuf with regards to innovation and design in the gaming market. Corsair has the operational scale and network to help us bring our innovation to even more gamers."

Now the sale has been completed, the Scuf will be joining the likes of Origin and Elgato as part of a growing line-up of high profile gaming brands under the control of Corsair.
