Pete Vlastelica is stepping down as the second Overwatch League Commissioner after just one season, the Esports Observer reports.

After taking over the reins from former inaugural Commissioner Nate Nanzer, who held the position for the first two seasons of the League, Vlastelica oversaw operations for the duration of season three. An Activision Blizzard spokesperson gave the following statement.

"Pete Vlastelica, CEO of Activision Blizzard Esports and Commissioner of the Overwatch League, will transition from his role in ABE to focus on new entrepreneurial ventures on behalf of Activision Blizzard, following the Overwatch League Grand Finals. He was instrumental in building the company's esports business and driving the industry forward, and we thank Pete for his contributions and impact on our business over the last four years."

Season three of the Overwatch League was the first year live homestand events were expected, but with the rise of Covid-19, homestands had to be cancelled for the foreseeable future, leading the League to become mainly online for the season duration.

As for who will take up the mantle of Overwatch League Commissioner, that is yet to be announced, but with Vlastelica staying on until the conclusion of Grand Finals weekend, the personnel change will likely be on its way.
