The David Beckham-backed, London-based esports organisation Guild Esports has signed a two-year EMEA-wide sponsorship deal with sandwich franchise Subway. The deal, which sees Subway become Guild's Official Quick-Service Restaurant Partner will span over 50 countries and will see Subway graphics on Guild's jerseys.
"We are incredibly proud to partner with Subway, an iconic global brand and the world's largest submarine sandwich franchise," said Carleton Curtis, Executive Chairman of Guild Esports in a press release. "This partnership is particularly exciting as we are completely aligned with Subway's commitment to helping people make better choices."
The deal is also set to see Subway become an Academy Partner with Guild, meaning the sandwich brand will be able to engage with younger audiences across the EMEA region. The deal will hopefully allow the pair to support young gamers to make better food choices, for themselves and their local communities.
"We're thrilled to be partnered with Guild Esports, which goes far beyond the typical esports company," said Louise Wardle, Vice President Marketing EMEA at Subway. "Its world-first Academy is completely unique, offering the opportunity for young gamers to harness their passions, build skills and fulfil their dreams."
