The Overwatch League is in full swing rounding out the 2021 season with the long awaited and truly exciting Playoffs. The event is bringing the best teams from around the globe together to compete in Hawaii for the title of OWL Champion, but that's not all being celebrated, as the League has now revealed its OWL 2021 MVP.

The player who was credited with the prestigious award was none other than the Chengdu Hunters DPS Xin "Leave" Huang, who was massively influential in leading the team to its highest ever end of season finish: third overall. The team has also made it to three of the four tournaments, never quite winning, but placing second a few times and even getting a third place result as well - so all in all, a pretty impressive season from the Hunters.

"I couldn't believe I even got nominated, since there are so many other skilled and impressive players in the league," said Leave. "The fact that I was able to win MVP over all of those players—I'm just grateful for everyone's support."

Leave managed to take the award with no less than 36.4% of the fan vote, on top of "a fair majority of the official ballots from teams, broadcast talent, and media" as the Overwatch League's blog post stated.

The Chengdu Hunters are also currently undefeated in the Playoffs, after beating the Atlanta Reign earlier this morning. The team's next match will see them face the Dallas Fuel in the early morning of the 23rd. You can catch the action when it kicks off at 3:00 BST / 4:00 CEST here.
