Resident Evil (Remake) is a third-person survival horror-shooter released first for Gamecube on 13 September 2002 in Europe and was later released for Wii on 26 June 2009 in Europe as Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil. The game was developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and it was published by Capcom.
Though this game shares exactly the same name as the one released in 1996, most of the plot has been left intact and you can only play as two characters (Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine), the atmosphere of this version is much darker due to real-time shadows depending on light sources and graphics. The voice work was re-recorded with an all-new cast and live-action FMVs were replaced by CG.
