Immortals and K-Swiss partner for esports sneakers

Further research will be conducted in the area.
Sam Bishop 30 abril 2018

Footwear brand K-Swiss has announced a brand new partnership with esports organisation Immortals, so that the pair can launch "the first signature sneaker for a professional gaming team," as phrased by the press release.

"Esports is the new frontier of sports and entertainment, and this is another way for K-Swiss to contribute to culture in a progressive and modern way," says Barney Waters, K-Swiss' brand president.

The sneaker itself is based on the latest Kompass style from K-Swiss, featuring engineered mesh, the TPU cage featuring the brand's five stripes, brand-new Surge dual-density technology, and more. What's more is that it's also designed to be breathable and flexible for esports players, and will cost $110 USD as a suggested retailer price.

K-Swiss will also incorporate scientific research into a new performance shoe for esports, taking place at Immortals' LA training facility in the coming months, including research into temperature, movement of the feet during a match, and more.

"Like any professional athlete, esports competitors look for any advantage they can use against their opponents," said Noah Whinston, CEO of Immortals. "By wearing a uniquely designed shoe specifically created for our esports players with their input, they know that they have an immediate advantage -- both physically and psychologically."

The entire process of designing and developing the shoe will be documented, with social media channels broadcasting this content. If you're interested in getting the sneakers right now though, you can do so in cyan and black - the Immortals colours - with the organisation's logo too.
