PGL looking to expand India's esports with Cobx partnership

Including an upcoming tournament.
Sam Bishop 9 abril 2018

Esports organiser PGL has announced a collaboration with Cobx Gaming - one of the leading esports companies in India - as both of them work towards the production of international events, which is part of PGL's plans for international expansion, especially in the relatively new market of India.

There are hopes that this will "propel India on the global esports map as an attractive location alternative," according to the press release, which Cobx should be able to help with considering they have organised one fo the biggest online tournaments in the country. Now we can expect the Cobx Masters 2018 in the future, a South-East Asian tournament to be held in India and feature both Dota 2 and CS:GO.

"PGL's reputation hinges on its commitment to bring fans around the world the best esports content. We know how passionate the Indian fanbase is and we aim to write our own page in the esports story of this part of the world. We can only hope we will live up the expectations that our partners at Cobx and the Indian community has for us," commented PGL CEO Silviu Stroie.

"We are excited to be working together and aim towards combining our efforts in realising, to bring forth quality esports that deserves to be seen and experienced in all its greatness and intensity," added Rajdip Gupta, Founder of Cobx Gaming.
