Team Envy is no more

The esports organisation has completely merged with OpTic Gaming.
Ben Lyons Senior Editor 28 junio 2022

Despite being a long-running and well-known esports organisation, Team Envy is no longer in operation, as it has now completely merged with OpTic Gaming. All of Envy's teams will now be known by OpTic branding, with the only exception being the Dallas Fuel Overwatch League team, which is remaining under the same branding and identity.

Speaking about this merger, former Envy owner and current OpTic co-owner and chief gaming officer Mike "Hastr0" Rufail has taken to Twitter.

"Thank you all for sharing so many memories today. I'm so humbled by the impact @Envy has had in esports and from the outpouring of love for that brand. It means more than you all will ever know to this old man. Goodnight @Envy. Rest easy."

This decision was announced in a joint video between Hastr0 and Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez, where it was mentioned that the decision came from it making sense to put all of the organisation's resources into just OpTic rather than splitting it between Envy and OpTic.
