EA has announced the Continental Cup for the FIFA 19 Global Series, bringing esports action to PS4 players on October 6 as fans compete online to qualify for the first official tournament taking place at Paris Games Week from October 26 to 28.
PlayStation is also running up to 30 exclusive PS4 live and online events in countries around the world in support of the Global Series, and is the presenting sponsor at several events. PlayStation branded pre-shows and post-shows are also coming in Global Series competitions, creating original content like backstage footage, player interviews, and more as timed exclusives on PlayStation channels.
To qualify for the Continental Cup players will be able to join an online competition on PS4 from October 6 to 14 for a chance to secure one of 31 spots, with an additional spot saved for the winner of an onsite competition in Paris. These 32 players will then battle it out over three days for the chance to win Global Series points, cash prizes, and a paid trip to next year's Champions League final.
