La GDC de San Francisco acoge cada año la entrega de premios Independent Games Festival Awards, en la que se dan cita indistintamente títulos que ya están a la venta y otros que están en camino. Hay diversas categorías en las que se reconoce el trabajo visual, sonoro, de diseño o de narrativa, y por supuesto un gran premio al mejor título que lleva el nombre de Seumas McNally.
Ya han salido las nominaciones y lidera por número de opciones la aventura de Lucas Pope, Return of the Obra Dinn, que se acaba de llevar el Premio Juego del Año a mejor título indie de 2018 en Gamereactor. Entre el resto de nombre encontramos el proyecto español Do Not Feed The Monkeys, junto a otros como Paratopic, Noita o Forgotton Anne. Hay mucho prestigio y más de 50.000 dólares en juego para estos galardones que se entregarán en la madrugada del 20 al 21 de marzo.
